Dr. Maya Khather

Associate Professor

Dr. Maya Khater is an Associate Professor in Public International Law, in the Collage of Law at Al- Yamamah University, she holds a PhD from the Law Collage at Damascus University in 2011.

Before joining Al Yamamah University, Dr. Maya was working as Lecturer in the Collage of International Relations and Diplomatic Sciences at Al-Kalamoon University in Syria, then an assistant Professor at, During her career in Dar Al Uloom University, she took many responsibilities; she was the Vice Dean of Admissions & Student Affairs, the Assistant of the Dean's Collage, and a member of many committees.

Dr. Maya has taught many law courses in both Arabic and English languages, she was supervising and reviewing Master Thesis in Criminal and Commercial Law at Dar Al- Uloom University and Prince Naif University, and reviewed books and papers for legal journals in in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the research area Dr. Maya has four Books with the following addresses: The New Crimes of Terrorism and the Means to Combat it (published in 2019), The War against Terrorism in the Light of International Law (published in 2015), The Legality of the Israel Separation Wall in the Light of the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice 2005, and The Single Economic Sanctions in International Relations 2004.

She published many research papers with the following addresses: Legal Dimensions of the Crime of Trafficking in Children, Money Laundering and the Means to counterfeit it, Nuclear Terrorism and Ways to Combat it at the International Level, The Legal Framework of the Crime of Cyber Terrorism, The Legal Framework of the Crime of Piracy, The Roots of Terrorism and the Saudi Efforts to Combat it, Organized Crime and the Ways to Combat it, and International Protection for Children Affected by Armed Conflicts (under publishing).

The areas of expertise of Dr. Maya are public international law, human rights, international criminal law, and combating international terrorism.

Dr. Maya has also a great contribution in the University and Community services in the Kingdom.
